Taking An "Overall" Staycation

Hi loves! As you know I am always looking for ways to get out of my own city and explore the world, however, two weeks ago I decided to take a day trip to a nearby farm, only a few miles outside of Atlanta. We had such as great time, and truly felt like we were on vacation somewhere and not right down the street from home, which is pretty much what a "staycation" is all about. It's a way of exploring places and areas of your own city, as if you were a tourist and completely new to the area. Not only is this a great way to spend a weekend with friends, but it's the inexpensive alternative to a vacation.

Now, a little more about Serenbe Farms. The farm itself was established in the 90's, after founders Steve and Marie Nygren took a trip to the Georgia Country Side with their daughters and fell in love with the area. You can read more about the farms beginning on their official website. Today, the farm is home to over 400 residents, and serves as a perfect retreat for anyone that needs a little break from the crazy city life. We attended their Sunday wine tasting and took a stroll through the animal farm, which was a blast. There are two restaurants as well as grocery stores and a bakery that use organic ingredients grown at Serenbe Farms. If you have the time to spend the night, there is a lovely B&B called The Inn at Serenbe, perfect for a weekend getaway.

I wouldn't be myself if I didn't dress for the occasion, overalls were a total no brainer, and my gladiator sandals were stylish yet comfortable and casual enough for a trip to the farm.
